This course covers the basics of narrative video storytelling and media production, creating a self-contained segment using each aspect of Electronic News Gathering (ENG).Students will learn pre-production planning, shot lists and selection, on-camera interviewing, audio recording with lav and shotgun mics, lighting setups for field and studio, and camera operation including framing, exposure, and B-roll strategy. Post-production units include video editing in DaVinci Resolve, basic color correction, audio mixing, captioning for accessibility, and exporting for web and broadcast. Students leave with a portfolio piece and a working understanding of the editorial process from pitch to publish.
