Caregiving jobs can be in assisted living communities, skilled nursing facilities, or private care.

Coursework includes:
• Care for the bed-bound
• Elder abuse & neglect prevention
• Measuring & recording vital signs
• Effective communication skills
• First Aid, CPR, & HIPAA training
• Fall prevention
• Proper nutrition for specific diets • Activities of daily living
• Care plans, documentation, medication management
• Aiding with wheelchairs, walkers, crutches & canes

Medication Technician

Prepares Students for
National Certification

A Medication Technician assists in coordinating the delivery of medication and health related items to residents within an assisted living community. Successful completion of our Certified Caregiver and our Pharmacy Technician program qualifies students for state licensure as a Pharmacy Technician and a Certificate of Completion in Caregiving.

National Exam pre-requisites: High School Diploma or equivalency; no felony convictions.
Additional fee of $129

Completion of pharmacy technician prepares students to sit for the PTCB national exam at an additional fee. State licensure in pharmacy requires students pass the national exam and/or complete an externship. Students must also provide proof of high school graduation or equivalent to the State of California to obtain a license, and have no felony convictions.
